Description: Sheriff's deputies were called to the Legacy Pines Apartment complex in northwest Harris County in reference to a report of a discharge of a firearm.

Deputies arrived and found Wan, who had been fatally shot.

After obtaining a description of the shooter from witnesses, deputies began searching the apartment complex and surrounding area for the attacker.

During the search, deputies received a report of a man matching the description brandishing a pistol on Hufsmith-Kohrville Road.

Deputies on the ground and the Sheriff's Aerial Support program were called to the area and were able to locate the suspect in a parking lot in the 17000 block of Hufsmith-Kohrville, dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted wound.

During the investigation it was learned that Liu was the estranged husband of Wan and had been recently stalking her.

Liu contacted a friend shortly after Wan was shot and told his friend that he had just done something awful and was going to die.
